Allahabad High Court Refuses to Pass Order to Stop Sambhal Mosque Demolition

The Allahabad High Court has refused to pass any order preventing the demolition of the Masjid Shareef Gosulbara Ravan Bujurg in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.

The petition was filed before Justice Dinesh Pathak, requesting interim protection of the mosque after he declined to entertain a plea filed by the mosque management challenging the order passed by the Tehsildar for demolition.

The management has also sought an alternate remedy under Section 67(5) of the UP Revenue Code, 2006, which allows appeal to the court competent of the Collector. 

The location of the mosque is in dispute as it is allegedly built upon a compost pit/pond.
