The Delhi High Court refused to entertain a plea seeking the implementation of biometric verification for advocates in the upcoming Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) elections.
A full bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh, Navin Chawla, and C Hari Shankar observed that the scope of the pending writ petition was limited to elections of the Delhi Bar Association, not the BCD.
The Court dismissed the application, noting that the administration of BCD elections was outside the petition's ambit, and directed the applicant to seek remedies through a separate petition if desired.
