Delhi Riots Larger Conspiracy Case to Restart After Judicial Reshuffle

The Delhi riots larger conspiracy case will undergo fresh hearings following a major judicial reshuffle.

Previously, the prosecution and five accused had completed arguments before Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai. However, after the transfer of 135 judges, including Judge Bajpai, the case has been reassigned to Additional Sessions Judge Lalit Kumar.

As a result, all charge arguments will restart, requiring a review of the extensive 17,000-page chargesheet.

Judge Kumar stressed the need to expedite the trial given the delay and directed both sides to submit their argument schedules. The next hearing is scheduled for June 6, 2025.
