Lalu Prasad Yadav Moves Delhi High Court to Quash CBI FIR in ‘Land-for-Jobs’ Scam

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has approached the Delhi High Court seeking to quash the CBI FIR and charge sheets in the alleged ‘land-for-jobs’ scam.

His counsel, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, argued that the case is politically motivated and invalid due to the lack of a mandatory sanction under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Sibal also sought a stay on the framing of charges, scheduled for June 2.

The CBI opposed the plea, claiming sanction was properly obtained and denying any procedural lapse. The Court will decide on the matter soon.
