Mumbai Court: Plaintiff Seeks Book Quoted by Rahul Gandhi in Savarkar Defamation Case

In the ongoing defamation case in Pune against Rahul Gandhi, filed by Satyaki Savarkar (grandnephew of Veer Savarkar), the plaintiff has sought production of the book Gandhi cited in his March 2023 UK speech which he claimed supported his characterization of Savarkar as a "British servant" and author of a controversial incident involving Muslims. 

Satyaki’s application urges that, since Gandhi relied on the book during his speech, a copy must be supplied for a fair trial.

The Court has asked Gandhi’s counsel, Milind Pawar, to respond by the next hearing scheduled for July 3, 2025.
