The Parliament has passed the Protection of Interest in Aircraft Objects Bill, 2025, led by Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ram Mohan Naidu.
This Bill aims to protect the interests of aircraft leasing companies and improve India’s position in global aviation.
It is based on the Cape Town Convention, 2001, and helps reduce leasing costs for airlines by ensuring better legal protection for aircraft owners and financers. This law will attract more investors to India’s aviation sector.
The Bill also supports India’s growing aviation industry, which has seen a rise in airports, aircraft, and passengers over the past decade. It will boost investments, lower costs, and promote greener aviation.
