The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has requested the HC to make VC hearings open to all without prior intimation/request.
The appeal follows a letter from the Registrar General stating that advocates are not adequately using VC facilities.
The HCBA argues VC hearings should be open to everyone without prior notice, like the Delhi HC and NCLT Chandigarh, and suggests that the Punjab and Haryana HC adopt this model.
However, the HC Chief Justice had earlier requested the HCBA encourage advocates to appear in cases in virtual mode. The HCBA believes open access is needed for better participation and use of the technology.
