The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a writ petition challenging the cancellation of a fair price shop licence after records revealed that only three Aadhaar cards were used to withdraw ration meant for 697 cardholders.
The Court held that the petitioner did not explain the use of three Aadhaar numbers for 697 beneficiaries. It found 162 affidavits confirming that the ration receipt was not shown to be from the 697 affected cardholders.
The Court also rejected the plea of a server glitch, observing that no supporting material was placed on record.
With no specific pleading of malafide against State officers, the Court denied relief, upheld the cancellation order, and dismissed the petition.
