SC Grants Interim Protection to Lawyer Accused of Stealing Judicial File

The SC granted interim relief, a lawyer accused of stealing a judicial file and a computer screen from the court of the CJM in Ludhiana.

Singh was arrested under Section 380, Section 411, Section 427, Section 454, Section 409, Section 201, and Section 120-B of IPC.

Singh's anticipatory bail was denied by the Punjab and Haryana HC, citing the seriousness of the case. He then approached the SC, denying involvement and claiming false implication, with no direct evidence linking him to the crime.

The SC granted Singh interim protection from arrest until next hearing on January 3, 2025.
