Five Arrested for Defaming Madras High Court Judge Over Remarks on Actor Vijay

Five individuals were arrested for allegedly posting defamatory comments on social media targeting a Madras High Court judge who had earlier criticised TV actor Vijay.

The arrests were made under Sections 499, 500 IPC, and relevant IT Act provisions. Police reportedly discovered that the posts accused the judge of bias and impropriety following his remarks on the actor.

The Madras High Court had earlier expressed dismay over derogatory online remarks and directed law enforcement to take action. The arrested persons are being questioned and further action is underway.
