Aarti Drugs Faces ₹13.36 Cr Tax Dispute Over Unpaid Tax Liability, Bank Account Frozen

Aarti Drugs Limited recently received an order in Form DRC-22 from GST authorities. This order, issued under Section 83 of the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Act, 2017, mandates the provisional attachment of the company's bank accounts.

Section 83 of the CGST Act empowers tax officials to provisionally attach bank accounts and other assets of a taxpayer to safeguard government revenue during ongoing investigations or assessments.

The current dispute involves an alleged unpaid tax liability amounting to ₹13.36 crores.

The move aims to prevent asset dissipation until the conclusion of proceedings.

Aarti Drugs has yet to release an official response regarding the development.
