The Madhya Pradesh High Court refused to quash an FIR despite a compromise, stating that the alleged acts were heinous and harmful to society.
As per the FIR, the complainant was abducted, assaulted with a pistol butt, and forced to record a false confession under threat. He initially paid ₹16,000 and was asked for ₹5 lakh more. The accused allegedly threatened to release the video and extorted further payment.
The Court cited the Gian Singh and Narinder Singh case and held that crimes affecting public order and societal peace cannot be quashed merely due to a compromise.
