Senior activists and bureaucrats have approached the Supreme Court seeking contempt action against the Ghaziabad district administration and U.P. State police for allowing advertisements linked to a Dharam Sansad organized by Yati Narasinghanand Foundation.
These advertisements contain communal remarks, including calls for genocide against Muslims.
The petitioners argue this constitutes a deliberate contempt of previous Supreme Court orders demanding action against hate speech and communal activities.
The Court has agreed to list the plea and referenced prior judgments, including Tehseen Poonawala (2018) and guidelines from October 2022 to prevent hate crimes and protect citizens.
