Adani Group Appoints 2 Top US Law Firms to Defend Them Against SEC Bribery Allegations

The Adani Group has hired US law firms Kirkland & Ellis and Quinn Emanuel to defend against allegations of $250 million in bribes to secure solar energy contracts.

Gautam Adani, Sagar Adani, and Vneet S Jaain clarified they are not charged with violations of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), though the case continues in US courts.

The civil and criminal cases, filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Eastern District of New York, include claims of bribery and obstruction of justice involving evidence tampering.

Both law firms, known for handling high-profile litigation, are representing the Adani Group in this complex legal matter.
