A Delhi court on Tuesday remanded Uday Bhanu Chib, National President of the Indian Youth Congress, to four-day police custody in connection with last week’s protest at the India AI Impact Summit.
Judicial Magistrate Ravi of Patiala House Courts partly allowed the police plea, directing that Chib be produced after February 28, 2026, with a detailed remand report.
The protest took place at Bharat Mandapam, where Youth Congress workers allegedly breached security and raised slogans. Delhi Police termed Chib the “main conspirator,” alleging he incited a riot-like situation and failed to disclose key details.
The defence denied the charges, calling the remand unnecessary and arguing the protest amounted to criticism, not violence.
