The Waqf (Amendment) Bill has sparked protests, with the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) calling it unfair.
The Bill suggests changes to Waqf properties, including allowing Non-Muslim members on Waqf boards. AIMPLB says this would violate Articles 14, 25, 26, and 30 of the Indian Constitution.
The Board refers to the M. Siddiq v. Mahant Suresh Das (2019) cases to support its claims. Meanwhile, protests continue across the country as AIMPLB plans legal action.
Further, the court's ruling will determine whether the Bill violates the Constitution.
