The Allahabad High Court has ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to re-evaluate a NEET-UG aspirant’s OMR sheet after she mistakenly filled the wrong booklet code, scoring just 41 instead of an estimated 589 marks.
The 20-year-old petitioner claimed she entered “46” instead of “47,” which led to her answers being checked against the wrong paper. The Court, citing that “to err is human,” said the mistake was clerical and not deliberate.
While the Court declined interim relief for admission, the Court emphasised fairness in merit-based exams and asked NTA to re-check the sheet using the correct booklet code.
