The Allahabad High Court has criticized the Uttar Pradesh Government for failing to appoint teachers in government schools, calling it a clear violation of Article 21-A of the Constitution, which guarantees free and compulsory education for children aged 6-14 years.
The court, while hearing a filed plea by C/M Krishi Audyogik Vidyalaya Aau (a junior high school), observed that thousands of teacher posts remain vacant, affecting education quality.
The Court directed the Additional Secretary, UP Basic Education, to file a personal affidavit explaining why action should not be taken against state officials for inaction.
The matter is scheduled for the next hearing on March 11.
