The Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of cricketer Yash Dayal, who plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, in a case filed under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with sexual intercourse through deceitful means.
An FIR was registered on July 6 at Indirapuram Police Station, Ghaziabad, accusing Dayal of sexually exploiting a woman over five years by falsely promising marriage.
The complainant claimed he repeatedly delayed the marriage and was involved with other women.
The Court granted interim protection, questioning the five-year delay in reporting the alleged deceit, and listed the case for a future hearing.
