The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a public interest litigation which sought for a directive to the Centre to enact a law that shall safeguard the rights of men against "harassment" by their wives.
The petition highlighted multiple news reports showing hardships faced by men across the country. It was also contended that the plethora of legislations that safeguard the rights of women motivate them to harass men.
The Court observed that besides the references made to certain news bits, the arguments were not thorough and therefore, no case could be made out of the petition.
