Allahabad High Court Dismisses PIL Seeking Rotating Ashoka Chakra in National Flag

The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a policy for the dynamic display of a rotating Ashoka Chakra in the National Flag.

Filed by a petitioner who had earlier proposed the idea to the Prime Minister, the Court held that the plea lacked genuine public interest.

The Division Bench observed that the petition stemmed solely from inaction on the petitioner’s proposal and did not represent a broader public cause.

The court clarified that the petitioner may pursue alternative legal remedies for individual grievances, but dismissed the PIL as misconceived. (Ajay Kumar Sharma vs. UOI & 2 others)
