Allahabad High Court Fines a Law Student ₹20,000 Over a Frivolous Plea on Exam Marks

The Allahabad High Court imposed a cost of ₹20,000 on a law student who filed a writ petition seeking 499 out of 500 marks in their first semester LL.B. examination and alleged corruption against Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University.

Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery held that the claim was baseless and unsupported by any credible evidence. Observing that the petitioner had a history of filing multiple unsubstantiated petitions.

The Court dismissed the plea and advised the student to focus on studies rather than frivolous litigation. The amount must be deposited within 15 days with the High Court Legal Services Committee.
