Allahabad High Court Issues Contempt Notice For Recording Proceedings Inside Courtroom

The Allahabad High Court has issued a show-cause notice for criminal contempt to a Pairokar who was caught recording courtroom proceedings on his mobile phone.

Justice Krishan Pahal observed that the act amounted to a serious interference with the administration of justice and formed a prima facie case of criminal contempt.

The incident occurred during the hearing of a bail plea, where the individual admitted to recording without permission. The Court directed him to explain by December 18 why contempt action should not be taken.

The matter has been referred to the Chief Justice for listing before another Bench.
