Allahabad High Court Judge Recuses from Rahul Gandhi British Nationality Case

Justice Subhash Vidyarthi of the Allahabad High Court has recused himself from hearing a petition seeking criminal proceedings against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

The petitioner alleged that Gandhi held British nationality while serving as a Director of a UK-based company. Previously, the Court had dictated an order finding a prima facie case, but later withheld it to determine if Gandhi must be heard before directing an investigation.

Following the petitioner’s public demand for the initial order to be released, Justice Vidyarthi referred the matter to another bench.

The plea seeks an FIR under the Official Secrets Act and Passport Act.
