The Allahabad High Court ordered the Prayagraj Police to lodge an FIR against a litigant who attempted to alter his date of birth in his passport from 1994 to 2005 based on allegedly forged documents.
The Court observed that the petitioner’s school certificate and Aadhaar card recorded his DOB as 11 July 1994, whereas a later Aadhaar and a Gram Panchayat birth certificate issued in 2025 showed 11 July 2005, suggesting an implausible educational timeline.
Describing the situation as “shocking” and indicative of widespread corruption, the Court directed registration of an FIR for cheating and forgery against the petitioner and the concerned Panchayat officials, and fixed January 27 to verify compliance.
