Anil Ambani Moves Supreme Court After Bombay HC Upholds SBI’s Fraud Classification

Anil Ambani has approached the Supreme Court against the Bombay High Court’s order upholding SBI’s decision to classify him as a promoter and person in control of Reliance Communications Ltd. (RCOM), as “fraud.”

The High Court had dismissed Ambani’s challenge to SBI’s June 2025 fraud classification, holding that the bank acted in accordance with the RBI’s Master Directions on fraud identification.

Ambani argued that he served only as a non-executive director and was unfairly singled out, and not given adequate opportunity to respond, but the Court rejected these claims.

The appeal, filed last week, is yet to be listed.
