Anti-Corruption Court Sentences Former Pakistani PM Imran Khan in Land Graft Case

An Anti-Corruption Court in Pakistan sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan to 14 years imprisonment and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to seven years in a land corruption case related to the Al-Qadir Trust.

The case involves allegations of misusing £190 million returned by the UK's National Crime Agency to Pakistan.

Imran Khan and his wife were accused of accepting land worth 7 billion rupees from real estate tycoon Malik Riaz in exchange for favours during Imran Khan’s tenure.

Prosecutors claim the funds were laundered and used for personal benefit.

Imran Khan denied the charges, calling them politically motivated.
