Bar Council Removes AAP Legal Cell head Sanjeev Nasair

The Bar Council of India, on December 7, 2024, decided to refer allegations of irregularities in the LL.B. (Hons.) degree of Sanjeev Nasiar, Vice-Chairman of the Bar Council of Delhi, to the CBI for a detailed investigation.

The sub-committee of the BCI found Nasiar's degree suspicious as DAVV (university) records appeared tampered with. The LL.B course started in 2008, not 1988, raising doubts about the university.

The BCI emphasised the move is to safeguard the legal profession’s dignity and ensure public confidence, citing the Advocates Act, 1961. Now, Mr. Nasiar has been removed from his position
