The Baroda Cricket Association has moved the Supreme Court against a Delhi High Court order directing it to pay Rs 64.35 lakh to Senior Advocate Srinivasan Ganesh as professional fees.
The case concerns a tax matter where the advocate's services were allegedly engaged via KC Mehta & Co, the Association's CA firm.
While the High Court decreed the suit, considering the Association's defense insignificant as the Association denies formal engagement or instruction to the senior counsel.
The Supreme Court, on January 21, urged a cooperative settlement, whereby the court had earlier stayed the decree in November 2024.
