CMS IndusLaw and Dentons Link Legal have rejected allegations of violating the Bar Council of India (BCI) rules after receiving a notice over purported unauthorised foreign tie-ups.
Both firms maintained they are fully compliant with Indian law, independent, and Indian-owned, with no foreign law practice.
The BCI's August 5 notice warned against joint branding or shared platforms without registration under the amended 2025 Foreign Lawyers Rules.
It has sought detailed disclosures and cautioned that non-compliance could invite proceedings under the Advocates Act, including potential disciplinary action.
