The Bar Council of India has ordered the removal of advocate J. Vasanthan after finding that he obtained enrolment using a fake law degree and fabricated marksheets.
During the inquiry, he admitted paying intermediaries and disclosed the involvement of a Bar Council of Delhi staff member and advocate-tout Arbind Panchal, indicating a larger collusive network.
The BCI directed the Bar Council of Delhi to immediately strike his name off the rolls, issue a public notice, and initiate strict action against all individuals involved, along with a time-bound inquiry into suspicious enrolments.
The BCI stressed that fraudulent entry into the profession constitutes serious professional misconduct and will invite strict action.
