Delhi HC Records BCI’s Timeline: AIBE XXI in June 2026, Qualifying Exam for Foreign-Law Graduates in December

The Bar Council of India told the Delhi High Court that AIBE XXI will be held in June 2026, while a separate qualifying exam for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees is now slated for 15–20 December 2025.

The Court closed the case filed by a law graduate from a foreign university seeking to practice in India. On the last date of hearing, the Court had directed the BCI counsel to take instructions on whether the qualifying exam can be scheduled before the AIBE exam.

The schedule comes amid ongoing legal proceedings about entry requirements for lawyers educated outside India's domestic legal system.
