A Bengaluru court has rejected the discharge plea of actor Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha Rajinikanth, in a forgery case linked to the film "Kochadaiiyan."
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Jyoti Shantappa Kale dismissed her application under Section 239 CrPC, noting that a prima facie case exists.
The prosecution alleged she formed a fake association to obtain a court injunction against media reports.
The Court clarified that claims of innocence or civil disputes do not justify discharge and emphasised that Section 195 CrPC does not bar prosecution for offences under Section 420 IPC (cheating).
