Kerala High Court Seeks Update on Prohibition of Ragging Amendment Bill

The Kerala High Court was informed by the Director General of Prosecution that the Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Amendment Bill is currently under review with the Law Department.

The court was hearing petitions addressing the ongoing ragging menace in the State.

The Kerala State Legal Services Authority and University Grants Commission had provided suggestions to drafts prepared by a Working Committee tasked with addressing gaps and loopholes in the existing Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1998.

The HC continues to monitor the legislative process to ensure effective measures against ragging.
