The Bombay High Court granted an ex parte ad-interim injunction restraining Sprouts News from publishing two articles dated August 13 and 18 against Godrej Properties Ltd and its executive, Saksham Vaishya.
Justice R.I. Chagla held the articles were prima facie false, reckless, and malicious, noting one superimposed the word “Fraud” on Godrej’s logo.
Recognizing the urgency, the Court ruled that issuing prior notice could trigger further harmful publications and defeat the purpose of relief.
Sprouts News has been directed to remove the articles from its website and social media and barred from republishing similar material. The case will be heard next on September 8.
