Bombay HC is set to Hear ₹5,000 Crore Lodha Trademark Dispute seeking to Restrain Younger Brother

  • Case Name: Macrotech Developers vs. House of Abhinandan Lodha
  • Judge(s): Justice Arif Doctor

The Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear a ₹5,000 crore lawsuit filed by Macrotech Developers against younger brother Abhinandan Lodha for trademark infringement.

Macrotech accuses Abhinandan’s companies of unauthorized use of the ‘Lodha' brand, violating family settlement agreements from 2017 and 2023.

These agreements assigned intellectual property rights to Macrotech and prohibited Abhinandan from using similar names in real estate.

The company seeks ₹5,000 crores in damages, a permanent injunction to stop trademark use, disclosure of assets, and destruction of infringing materials.

The case, initially listed before Justice Manish Pitale, will now be heard by Justice Arif Doctor on January 27.
