The Bombay High Court issued a temporary injunction against YouTube vlogger Gaurav Taneja ("Flying Beast") for copyright infringement, directing him to remove two videos showcasing a zero-gravity flight.
Castrol, which organized the flight under its 'Castronomy' campaign, alleged Taneja failed to credit its sponsorship and exploited campaign-created raw data without authorization.
Justice R.I. Chagla held Castrol as the first copyright owner, concluding Taneja prima facie infringed its rights. Despite requests and a Rs 5 lakh offer, Taneja refused to comply. The court deemed his actions a violation of intellectual property laws.
