The Bombay High Court has referred an advocate to the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa for alleged professional misconduct.
The Bench noted with shock that Advocate S.D. Chande had filed a vakalatnama for only one respondent but appeared for seven, misleading the court into passing orders.
The case involves allegations of unauthorized constructions and the use of potentially forged civil court decrees.
The Court observed that such "mischief" amounts to fraud and directed the Bar Council to take suitable action within four months, noting that similar objections against the lawyer had arisen previously.
