Bombay HC Denies Interim Relief to Symbiosis Law Student Suspended over ‘Operation Sindoor’ Post

The Bombay High Court’s Nagpur Bench declined interim relief to a Symbiosis Law School final‑year student suspended on May 10 for an Instagram post that allegedly contradicted India’s stance on military “Operation Sindoor.

The Court held the suspension was an administrative measure, not punishment, as it awaits the outcome of a disciplinary inquiry.

The Campus Disciplinary Committee, upholding the suspension on May 13, barred her from all exams but assured special examinations would be conducted if exonerated.

The inquiry must conclude by May 25, with the next hearing on May 27. The student is directed to cooperate fully.
