Bombay HC Refuses to Stay Release of Akshay Kumar's 'Sky Force' Amid Copyright Allegations

  • Case Name: Sandeep Gangatkar v Sandeep Kewlani
  • Judge(s): Justice Manish Pitale

The Bombay High Court has rejected a copyright infringement petition filed by producer Sandeep Gangatkar, who sought to prevent the release of Akshay Kumar's film Sky Force.

Gangatkar claimed that the film copied his script from the movie 'Fire Bird.'

The court pointed out Gangatkar's delay in submitting the petition and emphasized the potential ₹250 crore loss that the defendants would incur if the release were delayed.

Justice Manish Pitale denied the request for interim relief but instructed the producers, Maddock Films and Jio Studios, to respond within four weeks.

Sky Force is set to be released as planned on January 24.
