The Bombay High Court on Thursday said it will watch the film Ajey: The Untold Story before ruling on a plea by its makers against the CBFC’s refusal to grant certification.
The film, inspired by The Monk Who Became Chief Minister, is said to depict the life of UP CM Yogi Adityanath. A Bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Neela Gokhale directed the producers to submit a copy highlighting the disputed scenes.
The Court criticised the CBFC for failing to follow natural justice, noting that its Revising Committee rejected certification despite dropping some earlier objections.
The case will be heard on August 25.
