The Bombay High Court granted bail to a 20-year-old college student accused of murdering his 69-year-old bedridden father.
The court acknowledged the seriousness of the act and observed his education at this stage could lead him into a criminal spiral and stressed that resuming studies could help reform him.
It was observed that the incident involved provocation due to repeated abuse by the father and his mother as well, which could not be handled by the applicant's 'adolescent' mind.
Despite the prosecution's claim, the court concluded by granting bail to the applicant to allow him to resume his education.
