The Bombay High Court has directed the administrator of RNA Royale Park Co‑operative Housing Society in Kandivali to remove two “special security personnel” within two days who were allegedly hired to prevent stray dog feeding, violating earlier court orders from March and April 2023.
Justices Girish Kulkarni and Arif Doctor held that this conduct amounted to contempt, reaffirming protections under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, Animal Birth Control Rules 2023, and citizen duties under Article 51A(g).
The court also ordered a five-member committee with dog lovers and residents to formalise feeding zones and ensure water bowls are not removed. Non-compliance will trigger strict action.
