The Bombay High Court on July 23, 2025, lifted its interim stay that had barred Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) from replacing Celebi Aviation’s subsidiary for ground handling services at the airport.
Justice Somasekhar Sundaresan cited the Delhi High Court’s recent dismissal of Celebi’s plea challenging the revocation of its security clearance, ruling continued protection unsustainable.
The government revoked Celebi’s clearance, citing national security concerns after Turkey backed Pakistan during a military conflict. With this order, MIAL can proceed to appoint a long-term operator while conciliation between Celebi and MIAL remains in progress.
