Bombay High Court Orders Removal of Defamatory Posts Against Malabar Gold & Diamonds

The Bombay High Court has issued an ad-interim order, directing social media platforms to pull down posts that defame jewellery brand Malabar Gold and Diamonds, which is being called the 'Sympathiser of Pakistan.'

The case arose when the brand, which planned to open a store in Birmingham, UK, indirectly hired Alishba Khalid, a Pakistani social media influencer who had explicitly criticised India and "Operation Sindoor."

The company argued the contract predated the Pahalgam attack and that it was unaware of her background.

The Court noted that Khalid’s services were since terminated and restrained from further defamatory publications.
