The Bombay High Court strongly criticised Inspector Prafull Wagh for presenting an imposter as the complainant in a case against Zee Entertainment's show that sought a stay on the airing of serial Tum Se Tum Tak.
Justices Ravindra Ghuge and Gautam Ankhad called the act a “blatant lie” and said it may amount to giving false evidence in judicial proceedings. The impersonator, Mahendra Sharma, failed to match signatures from the original complaint filed under the name Sunil Sharma.
The Court directed both Sharma and Inspector Wagh to file affidavits by July 24. The matter is listed for hearing on July 28. [Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd v The Inspector of Police]
