The Bombay High Court enhanced a woman’s monthly maintenance from ₹50,000 to ₹3.5 lakh after finding that her husband had concealed his real income and assets.
The bench observed that the husband’s claim of earning only ₹6 lakh annually was “farcical,” noting that his family controlled a real estate and finance empire worth over ₹1,000 crore.
Holding that he deliberately suppressed his financial capacity to evade higher obligations, the court ordered enhanced monthly payments and retrospective compensation, dismissing the husband’s appeal.
