The Bombay High Court has reconvened a full bench (Justices Ghuge, Jamadar & Marne) to rehear petitions challenging the constitutionality of the Maharashtra State SEBC Act, 2024, which grants 10% reservation to Marathas in education and government jobs.
While fresh hearings will start on July 18, 2025, the interim order staying quota implementation remains, allowing admissions and appointments under the Maratha quota to proceed subject to final judgment.
The bench has committed to expedited hearings, including Saturdays and half-days, to complete proceedings before advertisements and admission cycles advance.
