Bombay High Court Slaps ₹50k Costs on Petition Against Adani Power Contract

  • Case Name: Shriraj Nageshwar Aepurwar v. Adani Power
  • Judge(s): Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay, Justice Amit Bork

The Bombay High Court dismissed a petition challenging the 6,600 MW contract awarded to Adani Power for renewable and thermal power supply in Maharashtra.

The petitioner claimed the contract violated citizens' fundamental rights under Article 21 of the Constitution and alleged corruption in the award process.

The Court rejected the claims, stating the petition was highly misconceived and lacked evidence. The bench noted that the petitioner was not involved in the tender process and filed the petition incorrectly as a writ, not a PIL.

The Court imposed ₹50,000 costs on the petitioner.
