The Bombay HC temporarily paused an externment notice against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sachin Bhosale.
The court ordered authorities to decide on the October 21, 2024 notice within a week and put a second notice from December 4 on hold for eight days after the first is resolved.
Bhosale claimed the action was politically motivated to stop him from participating in local elections.
Externment proceedings are used to remove individuals seen as threats to public peace. Bhosale argued the second notice was issued unfairly without resolving the first.
He has six cases related to political protests and one from a family dispute.
